The Fermain Beach Cafe
Guernsey
Here is a definite family favourite as the kids can play on the beach after enjoying a most delicious lunch whilst the adults chill with an after dinner drink overlooking the bay - the view really has to be experienced to get a true idea of how stunning the setting is.
I particularly enjoy the seafood linguine and their steak sandwich is another regular choice followed by a selection of Guernsey ice cream - really delicious.
Their puddings here are pretty special such as their very tasty home made baked cheesecake and their bread and butter pudding and always very generous portions, one helping is often enough between two.
Parking is prohibited but only a short walk uphill through the leafy valley is the Fermain Valley Hotel where parking is available.
The setting here is very hard to beat and if its a sunny day and lunch with a view is on the cards then here would more often than not be my first choice.
They also open for dinner in the evenings and each table outside has a gas heater next to it so the view over the bay can be appreciated in the warmth. There is of course also the option to dine indoors.
Due to its popularity it is advisable to book well in advance.
They do not take reservations for lunch.
