Getting to Herm

Apart from sailing there in your own yacht, the only way to get to Herm Island is on the dedicated Trident ferry that operates regular sailings from Guernsey's St Peter Port Harbour throughout the spring and summer months. The voyage takes less than half an hour and the Trident boats are used both by day trippers and by visitors who have pre-booked their accommodation on Herm.

Booking a trip to Herm Island could not be much easier. Just go to the Trident ticket office on the St Peter Port seafront at the Town Weighbridge. The office is open every day from May 1 until the end of September, from 8am until 5.15pm, except when there are evening sailings when the office remains open until 7pm. The ferry's main departure point from St Peter Port Harbour is at the Cambridge Steps but at certain states of the tide (Guernsey has a 10 metre tidal flow) the ferry might depart from the Weighbridge or the nearby Inter-Island Quay. Similarly, in Herm there are two arrival and departure points, with Herm's tiny harbour favoured at high tide and the Rosaire Steps at low tide. See www.herm.com for more details.
