Getting Around Guernsey

The options for getting around Guernsey are many and varied. The island has a modern taxi fleet operated by independent taxi companies and individual taxi owners, as well as specialist companies that operate private services using coaches and minibuses. Guernsey's public bus service serves the island comprehensively during the daytime and early evening but there are no night services. There are plenty of hire car companies to choose from, including several with desks at Guernsey Airport, and it is also easy to hire a bicycle or a scooter.

GUERNSEY'S BUS SERVICE

Guernsey has an extensive bus service with routes servicing most parts of the island and all of the island's major attractions. It is feasible to use the bus as your only mode of daytime transport during your stay in Guernsey.

Buses cost just £1 per journey and even less if you purchase a multi-journey 'Ormer card'.

Guernsey has low-floor buses which are designed for wheelchair access with kneeling suspension. The vehicles are kept exceptionally clean and are very comfortable.
